Cultural Day 2025 Celebrates the Richness of Nigerian Heritage

Cultural Day 2025 Celebrates the Richness of Nigerian Heritage

Chester Hills International School's annual Cultural Day brought the entire school community together for a full day of performances, food, storytelling and celebration of Nigeria's extraordinary cultural diversity.

Each class was assigned a region of Nigeria to research and represent, leading to a vibrant procession of traditional attire from Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa and numerous other ethnic groups — each introduced with a short presentation researched and delivered by the pupils themselves.

The highlight of the afternoon was a series of traditional dance performances by the Junior and Senior Secondary cultural troupes, followed by a parent-run food fair celebrating dishes from across the country. Proceeds from the food fair went toward the school's bursary fund.

The School Principal noted in her closing address that Cultural Day remains one of the most powerful expressions of the school's values — teaching pupils to be proud of where they come from while remaining genuinely curious about everyone else.
